Overview

As an Optimizely Architect at Velir you will be a leader in our engineering practice, leveraging your extensive expertise in Optimizely technologies to define our standards of delivery. You’re keeping up with the latest in the Optimizely and DXP industries, introducing new technologies, tools and methods to our team.  Your ability to communicate complex technical ideas is as crucial as your coding skills. You’ll bridge developers, project management, and clients, making sure everyone understands our technical direction.  You care about clean and simple code, automated processes, high performance, and security.  Your positive impact will extend beyond your technical expertise, as an active participant in the larger community, sharing your knowledge inside and outside of Velir and helping to bolster our presence as a leading voice in the Optimizely ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • Function as an Optimizely DXP expert
  • Build content-driven enterprise-level web applications to deliver polished user and author experiences
  • Analyze and recommend changes in project development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies
  • Mentor development teams in the design and implementation of large web-based solutions
  • Deliver technical presentations, roadmaps, and recommendations to both highly technical and line-of-business client teams
  • Collaborate with our clients and digital solutions team to review designs, validate requirements, and implement specifications
  • Lead a team of developers through the full project lifecycle, defining requirements, architectural design, implementation, release planning, and deployment
  • Design APIs, build middleware and web services
  • Deliver code that meets modern web security standards (OWASP)
  • Setup and maintain DevOps pipelines for your projects
  • Clearly document high-level system architecture, major subsystems, and integrations.
  • Identify risks early and mitigate or escalate them as appropriate
  • Work in Agile or Waterfall project methodologies, meeting delivery milestones and quality expectations
  • Write and oversee the development of unit tests and end-to-end tests.
  • Assist business development by evaluating proposals, completing technical due diligence, and providing estimates.
  • Holds regular meetings with developers, proactively organizes and facilitates brainstorming and discussions

Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with content management, digital marketing, and large web solutions.
  • Experience building multi-lingual, multi-site global websites.
  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent
  • 8+ years of developing complex web applications
  • Demonstrated history of providing engineering leadership for successful projects from kick-off through deployment
  • Foundation in software engineering principles, including object-oriented programming, design patterns, and SOLID
  • Experience consulting for clients and stakeholders and comfortable leading meetings
  • Experience leading and mentoring other developers
  • Excellent task management skills with the ability to prioritize large tasks and reprioritize as needed
  • Highly motivated and curious about new approaches and offerings within the Optimizely and general web development ecosystems
  • Experience with common web and marketing technologies such as Search, Digital Asset Management, CRM, and Identity Providers.
  • Demonstrated understanding of cloud architecture and cloud development patterns and practices.

  • Frequent sitting at a desk performing work on a computer.

Compensation Range: $150,000 - $165,000 annually.

 

Please note that compensation packages are finalized after the interview process is concluded. We use a competency-based approach to base pay, which means it is based on the competencies and skills demonstrated for this role.
