Overview

The Client Services team is essential to the health and growth of our business. They have a deep understanding of the verticals and technologies that Velir specializes in, are excellent relationship builders, and possess outstanding communication skills.

 

The senior account director is responsible for the for the day-to-day client relationship and all elements of the account including, implementation of the strategic vision for the client, delivery against setting and achieving the annual financial targets while building a trusted relationship with multiple key client stakeholders.

 

The primary KPI will be achieving organic growth targets and ensuring high client satisfaction. A successful senior account director must be an excellent communicator and possess the ability to work and lead a distributed team with responsibility for client service and business growth. They must be comfortable actively mining for new organic revenue opportunities either within existing client businesses or with new clients. They must possess above average active listening skills to understand client needs and translate those needs to business growth opportunities. They will have expertise in all digital and marketing principles and apply them to defining, planning and executing against client objectives. An effective Senior Account Director must also have a strong aptitude for team mentorship.

Responsibilities

Client Relationship

  • Owns client relationships with existing clients and stakeholders, responsible for overall client satisfaction.
  • Sets the strategic tone, direction for clients including overseeing client needs, staffing, strategy, quality of work, and budgeting along with communicating client’s business strategy and needs cross functionally within Velir.
  • Leads strategic conversations to establish long-term relationships with clients.
  • Supports and mentors the wider Client Services team to ensure quality execution that drives toward client’s business objectives and key metrics.

Organic Growth

  • Lead client meetings and support the creation and execution of quarterly sales plan and is accountable for driving actions and outcomes to grow client’s business.
  • Accountable for total growth of clients including renewals and net new business on existing client accounts.
  • Create and maintain account plans within assigned portfolio, emphasizing high-growth prospects, specific target accounts, and categories for development.
  • Grows existing accounts and assists in the development of sales opportunities.
  • Ensure favorable scope and terms of contracts for all portfolio accounts, actively negotiating when necessary.
  • Travels on an as-needed basis to grow client relationships, travel will fluctuate with activity and opportunity and at times the requirement will be greater.

Leadership

  • Works effectively with others in a team-based environment to accomplish organizational goals and to identify and resolve problems.
  • Partner with Producers, Finance and Senior leadership to maintain financial health of assigned portfolio on an ongoing basis as well as roadmap and forecast revenue.
  • Serve as an escalation point for project and client teams.
  • Promotes the mission and values of the organization both internally and externally.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Comprehensive experience managing/ growing accounts in the Financial or Professional Services industries
  • 8+ years in the Digital Agency industry or related experience, developing interactive projects and managing client work
  • Financial acumen and advanced insight into business processes
  • Understanding of strategy, design, and web development
  • Ability to define solutions that will generate measurable results for the client
  • Developing negotiation skills with a strong aptitude for growth
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Solid understanding of project management, workflow and infrastructure
  • Strong knowledge of web development technologies.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance process is required.

 

 

Compensation Range: $115,000 - $130,000 annually.

 

Please note that compensation packages are finalized after the interview process is concluded. We use a competency-based approach to base pay, which means it is based on the competencies and skills demonstrated for this role.
