Senior Analytics Engineers play a substantial role in how data can be explored and interpreted to derive actionable insights, answer business questions, and support strategic decisions for our clients. 


Because our clients are mostly US-based organizations, we look for the ability to communicate with professional proficiency in English, verbally and in writing.


Key Responsibilities

  • Analytics Engineering Expertise: You are responsible for transforming data from the source so that it can be easily analyzed, visualized, and acted upon by data analysts, business users, or end-users. Analytics engineers deal with the data itself as well as the moving of data. You are capable of manipulating data through data cleaning, data conversion, and data modeling. Your job is informing, developing, and implementing solutions that ensure that data is ingested, transformed, scheduled, and ready to be used for analytics. As a senior member of the Analytics Engineering function, you serve as a mentor to other engineers, both individually and in group settings.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: You are responsible for collaborating with peers and other functional departments to develop and implement analytics engineering strategies and approaches that support engagement goals and understanding client needs.
  • Project Delivery: You are responsible for ensuring that large and/or more complex analytics engineering projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.

Responsibilities Breakdown

Analytics Engineering Expertise

  • Designing and building robust, scalable and reusable data models in SQL that support a variety of downstream use cases, using tools like dbt.
  • Configuring and optimizing aspects of a cloud data warehouse such as data permissions, compute and storage clusters, and table schemas
  • Configuring data ingestion tools like Fivetran and its connectors to different data sources
  • Designing and implementing data governance frameworks, such as data catalogs or data monitoring and observability platforms
  • Reviewing a teammate's or client’s code for accuracy, DRYness, style and performance


Cross-Team Collaboration

  • Promotes a positive culture within and across different teams, collaborating with data engineers and data analysts on end-to-end client requirements.
  • Takes initiative to identify and solve important problems. Coordinates with others on cross-cutting technical issues


Project Delivery

  • Optimizes for the predictability and regular cadence of deliverables.

Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills

  • Data Warehousing: You have a high proficiency in warehousing, including working knowledge of common ingestion platforms (Fivetran), an ability to configure warehouse-specific ingestion features (Snowpipe) and can provision, maintain and optimize at least one cloud data warehouse (Snowflake).
  • Data Modeling & Transformation: You have expert proficiency with data transformation tools such as dbt and expert proficiency in data modeling approaches and philosophies (Kimball, OBT). You have strong knowledge of common data integration patterns (CDC, ELT, etc.) orchestration platforms (Azure, Data Factory, Apache Airflow). Proficiency in dbt required.
  • Programming: You are considered a highly proficient programmer, including proficiency with version control and git. You approach your code holistically, achieving a high standard routinely.
  • Domain Expertise: You have a strong level of knowledge in domains in which you’re working. You are able to relate how the business works with the goals of the immediate team.


Bonus points for:

  • Data Analysis: You have a thorough understanding of data analysis and can identify deviations from the norm and relationships between various data points.
  • Data Movement: You can move large, assorted datasets from a variety of sources into a single storage medium, even more beneficial is a foundational understanding of event-driven architectures and asynchronous pub/sub design patterns.

Qualifications (Must Haves)

  • Proven experience with data modeling, with a focus on designing robust analytical data models.
  • Strong programming skills in SQL.
  • Deep knowledge of data warehousing and ETL/ELT processes.
  • Hands-on experience with data warehouses like Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, or similar.
  • Experience mentoring and advising other engineers.

Compensation Range: $125,000 - $145,000 annually.

Please note that compensation packages are finalized after the interview process is concluded. We use a competency-based approach to base pay, which means it is based on the competencies and skills demonstrated for this role.
